BMW to use Super Bowl for big launch

December 8th, 2010 by Deb McLean

BMW is planning its biggest new vehicle launch period next year and they are planning on using the biggest stage to make the biggest impact.

BMW recently announced that it will be returning to Super Bowl advertising on February 6, with the telecast of Super Bowl XLV from Dallas, after a 10-year hiatus from the game.

Among the vehicles BMW will launch next year is the ActiveE, an electric car to debut next summer. There’s a lot of buzz around electric cars with the imminent introductions of the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf.  It makes sense for BMW to use the incredible reach and impact the Super Bowl game as a stage for touting ActiveE.

I’m sure Chevy will have some great spots, so at least that’ll be a good match up!

Check out the brand’s old 2000 Super Bowl XXXIV spot.  Can’t wait to see what they come up with this year.
