Market for Need

January 31st, 2011 by Deb McLean

Every day new products are introduced, but are they really what the market is looking for?  It’s crucial to find a need or desire (rational vs emotional).  Then, aggressively seek out those propects.  Many marketers have ideas for products or services that target consumers that don’t know they want or need that product or service.

It’s a waste and like trying fit a square peg in a round hole.  You can keep shaving off the corners of the peg until you eventually fit it in the hole, but that is a waste of effort, time and money.  Ultimately, it’s not a true fit and won’t last!

Reaching a market segment that isn’t looking for a particular product or service is a thousand times harder than activating a segment that just can’t wait for what you’re offering! Why not pick one that can’t wait for you to show up?
