It’s time to take that relaxing vacation, right?

Did you know that not taking regular vacations is actually bad for your health?  Researchers have linked regular vacations to increased longevity and lower levels of heart disease — as well as your career.

It’s common sense, you’ll just burn out if you don’t relax and recharge.  So, take some time off.  Put the crackberry away and relax.  Here’s some things to think about when planning your vacation.

  • Choose a trusted person to handle your business – they can alert you if there’s a real problem.
  • Change your voicemail and email so this person is contacted.
  • Fly back home on Saturday, it’ll give you a chance to catch up before hitting the salt mines.
  • Don’t do a staycation, too many distractions at home.  Truly get away.
  • Leave the laptop, Blackberry and iPhone in the hotel room after breakfast.  Check in early and then check out!
  • Take Mini-Vacations if you can’t get away for extended periods of time.
  • Exercise
  • Sleep in
